Jackson Hole 2013

You love going on vacations.  And you love staying in 'our vacation home' when we go on vacation's.  We're usually in condo's or houses when we travel, so that's what you've always called it.  Our annual Jackson Hole trip was no exception.  Having your uncles and aunts there to play with you and the fact that you had Walkie Talkies this trip and bunk beds, made it just that much better.

Your handle for the walkie talkies was Big H, and since you had a LOT of practice over the long weekend, I think you got pretty good at using them.

You went with the big people (I stayed back and let Milo and Kate take a nap) into the park on a hike and to hear the Elk bugle, which you liked but got a little scared when they got close to the cars.

You liked going into town and seeing what was in the shops.  You just love anything that involves your family, and people playing with you.  You just can't get enough!

Halloween

This is probably the last time you'll want a costume that isn't a super hero or something dead... but you were pretty set on being Sulley from Monsters Inc, and I thought dressing Milo up as Mike Wazowski (his side kick) was pretty fun.

Halloween party at Grandma Lafeens

Grandpa Lafeen brought you another costume... complete with Ninja swords, you loved it.

Trick or treating at Mimi and Grandma Lafeen's work and then you went out with the Lafeen's for some neighborhood trick or treating.

You guys got a TON of candy, and we ended up mailing half of it to dad's old unit in Afghanistan.

Dad's home

You've been such a trooper during dad's deployment.  Being the oldest, you certainly understand the most and you've done your best to get excited about talking to him on the phone and computer.  You draw him pictures and talk about him all of the time.  During the last few months you will say that you miss dad and have asked how long Halloween is away the entire deployment.  We've told you that dad was coming home before Halloween to try and prep you on how long he'd be gone, and I know that you've looked forward to it.

Dad came home in the afternoon on Friday, and it was the funniest thing to watch you.  The whole night and the entire next day you didn't leave his side for a minute.  Anywhere dad went, you went too.  It's been really nice having him back and I know that he missed you so much while he was gone!

Pre-K

I guess last year you went to Preschool, but THIS year, you're in Pre-K.  It's at the same place, with most of the same teachers, so go figure.

You just LOVE school!  And, what's not to love.  Your life's ambition is to 'go fun places with toys' every day, more than once a day, in fact, so school fits the bill.  Miss Leslie, the head teacher is the same from last year and Miss Shannon is the second full time teacher there (you got to know her on occasion last year).  During orientation I noticed that at least 2 boys from last year were in your class, including Joshua.  You didn't really talk about Joshua last year, but from the looks of it, you guys were 'best buds' (his words when he saw  you).

Here's your first day shots (Kate has to get in on the action as well!)
