Memorial Day 2010

We went camping this weekend with the Lafeen's. Grandpa, Grandma, April and Bryan.

Your dad went fishing, we slept in our tent, and had good food and company while we were there.

And of course, it wouldn't be a family vacation without this happening...

We decided to sit in the trailer for a bit because we thought it would keep you from falling. (Since the only mode of transportation you seem to know is RUNNING).
We were wrong.
In a split second you pushed open the door... and fell to the ground.
Ouch.
Luckily, it didn't require a trip to the ER or the doctors.
Just some alcohol wipes, Neosporin and band aids.
Hope the head stays hard -you're going to need it!

18 month stats

You made it to 18 months kiddo, I can't believe it.
Sunday morning, on what was supposed to be your first day of nursery you woke up with a cold. Which, turned out to not be such a big deal, since our poor ward had a hard time getting going that morning, and they didn't even have any leaders in your class to start out with. You ended up going (your dad's decision) and lasted for about half of the time. Not too bad, considering you didn't feel very good.

At Grandma's house

I can't believe how much you're growing up and becoming a 'kid' that you claim to be (instead of a bubba).

You now say baby and Jodi (instead of bubba and Jodo), although I think your aunt Jodi misses Jodo. You can sort of talk to people on the phone, until you decide to hang up on them -the buttons are just too tempting.

You insist on feeding yourself, and would prefer to drink out of a real glass, without a lid most of the time. You're actually getting pretty good and feeding yourself, until you get bored.

On the zoo train

You love going on walks, and can get up into your stroller on your own. You can also get up into your high chair on your own too, but you can't get down, so we try to discourage that one.

You were about 33 inches long (in the 75th percentile) and 26 pounds (50th percentile). I feel bad that you HATE the doctor's office now. It started after your trip to the ER in Maui, but I'm hoping that it might get better in the near future. After today you won't have to have any more scheduled shots until you get ready for kindergarten. Which, is weird to even think about.

Love

Hyrum loves his aunts Jodi and April.

He loves his grandma's and grandpa's.

And, he loves dogs and babies.

But... he LOVES his Laila.

When ever we're on the way to her house, either in the car or walking, all we here is "Yaiya, yaiya, yaiya" over and over again. He just adores her, and she's great with him.

The only thing or person that may come before Laila, might be buddy.
